WEDU PBS sends out a monthly programming guide called Premiere Magazine to its members. This magazine is a guide to select WEDU and PBS programming airing each month, supported by ads from underwriters. I curate, design, and lay out the magazine in full each month.
I choose the cover subject matter with the VP of Communications and our President/CEO, and then assemble the artwork on my own from PBS assets and various other places; sometimes I use a TV program’s already-mostly-developed key art from PBS, but often I have to design something from scratch. Sometimes this means really hunting for something cover-worthy in the few press assets available, or coming up with something entirely myself, especially for WEDU PBS original productions where I design all of the branding.
